Buttered Hominy
Ingredients
- Hominy
- Butter
- Salt
- Black Pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Other spices (see notes)
Steps
- Melt some Butter (don't be shy) in a frying pan or sauce pan over medium-high heat
- Add Hominy
- Add Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic, Onion and any other spices
- Stir frequently for 5-10 minutes until Hominy is completely warmed
Notes
- The above listed ingredients are the minimum we do, and it's delicious that way, but feel free to add whatever herbs and spices you like. Cumin and Cayenne Pepper can add a Southwest flavor, or Goulash seasoning can take it to Eastern Europe. Seasonings like those used for Hackbraten or Schnitzel can give it a German vibe.
- Hominy and Grits are basically the same thing, so any flavors that work with one also work well with the other.
