Chili Lime Okra
Ingredients
- Sliced Okra
- 1-2 Minced Chili peppers (or red pepper flakes, etc)
- 1-2 tsp Lime juice (citric acid breaks down the okra slime)
- Sesame oil (just enough to coat the pan or wok)
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- Black Pepper
- Sesame Seeds
Steps
- Over medium high heat, heat the sesame oil and add chili peppers and Sesame Seeds.
- Once the chili pepper is warmed up add the garlic. Garlic will brown/burn quickly, so keep it moving around.
- Add the okra and immediately add lime juice.
- Add Black Pepper
- Toss everything around like a stir-fry until the okra looks cooked.
Notes
- Don’t overcook or the okra will go mushy.
- The citric acid in the lime juice helps break down the slime in the okra.
